December 20, 2018: Sudhir Amembal today announced Amembal & Halladay’s participation in the recently concluded Fifth Annual Global Leasing Industry Competitiveness Forum, held November 28 – 29, 2018 in Tianjin, China. The Forum was co-organized by Amembal & Halladay. Continuing the success of the first four forums held 2014 through 2017, this year’s conference, once again, attracted nearly over 400 leasing professionals, government officials, bankers, students, and members of the media.
The focus of this year’s Forum was “New Opportunity of Economic Growth, New Opportunities for the Leasing Industry”. It consisted of a unique blend of general assemblies supplemented by a CEO panel and hands-on parallel sessions that addressed specific concerns and questions of the attendees. Speakers included Chinese leasing luminaries; government representatives; and, three prestigious speakers from the U.S. equipment leasing industry – Dave Schaefer, CEO of Orion First and Immediate Past Chair of ELFA; Jud Snyder, CEO of BMO Harris Equipment Finance and Chair of ELFA; and, Nate Gibbons, COO of Innovation Finance. Each of the U.S. speakers were also panelists on roundtables and participated in workshops.
Sudhir Amembal, Chairman & CEO of Amembal & Halladay, advised the organizers on the conference agenda and speakers, delivered the keynote address, was a panelist on a roundtable, and moderated a workshop. Shawn Halladay, Senior Managing Director of the company, moderated two workshops and was a panelist on a roundtable.
Mr. Amembal stated, “One of the unique benefits of the Forum is that the global leasing experts provide insight into their own respective mature market; and, the Chinese speakers add tremendous value by presenting pragmatic domestic solutions. Each year, the conference brings significantly increasing value to the growth of the Chinese leasing industry and allows Chinese leasing professionals to learn from the experts. They are learning extremely fast and, in terms of volume, will more than likely become the world’s leading leasing economy, given current estimated growth rates, by 2026. In addition, their government is highly supportive of the leasing industry as a whole, indicating that leasing will continue to play a significant role in China’s continued economic and financial transformation.”
