Amembal & Halladay Announce Two New Publications
Following the immense success of Winning With Leasing!, and The Handbook of Equipment Leasing, Amembal and Halladay is proud to announce two new publications, Leasing – The Creative Financing Alternative, by Sudhir Amembal; and, Accounting for Leases – Embracing the New Paradigm, by Shawn Halladay. The two represent the 17th and 18th publications published by the firm, respectively. Both are intended to serve the ongoing needs of the global equipment finance and leasing industry.

Leasing – The Creative Financing Alternative, by Sudhir Amembal, was written with two objectives in mind. The first is to provide guidance to lessors on increasing business volume as well as profitability. This is accomplished in three chapters entitled: Winning the Deal – Convincing the Customer; Winning the Deal – Outsmarting Competition; and, The Significance of Business Differentiation. The second objective is to provide clear and cohesive information on topics of substantial significance to include Funding, Operating Leases, Vendor Programs, and Measuring Financial Performance. Accounting for Leases–Embracing the New Paradigm, by Shawn Halladay, examines the lease accounting requirements of IFRS 16 and ASC 842 in a concise and easy to understand manner. The book lays out the substantial overlap in the two standards and highlights where they differ, not only from each other, but also from the prior guidance. Whereas, the technical requirements are addressed, the focus in each chapter is on applying the rules to real-world issues and reinforcing them with numerous examples. The content will assist lease accounting and other financial personnel to properly report and comply with the rules; provide management with an essential understanding of the impact of the new accounting on current and future business; provide sales teams with the tools to identify and better appreciate their customers’ needs and issues; and, guide lessees in applying the significant changes created by IFRS 16 and ASC 842 to their business.
